A letter from B. F. Whitner Jr., secretary of the Sanford Public School Board, to J. N. Crooms, then principal of Hopper Academy. In the letter Whitner confirms the receipt of a check from Crooms to the Treasurer (presumably taxes or fees), who in turn has provided checks to J. N. Crooms and others, presumably salaries for the staff of Hopper Academy.
